AMALFI COAST:
THE PEARL OF ITALY
Maiori
The largest of the sandy beaches (i.e. mostly sandy) along the Amalfi Coast.
Restaurants - Mammato & Nettuna (Sekurcap Advice - try Nettuna's Scialatinni) both restaurants are easy to find along the beach.
Bar & Gelateria - Mamma Mia is the place to go (Via Corso Reginna, 12). They have great ice cream (gellato) arrangements. And if you are in for an afternoon (or evening) drink, olives and (a great) bruscetta are also served. Nice place to relax in Maiori.
Pizza by the slice - Euro Pizza at Corso Reginna, 16 (also, you must try their rice and cheese balls - a real treat ).
Groceries - Despar (does not take credit cards) at Via Arsenale, 8 & Supermercati SISA at Via Orti 44.
Fruit and Vegetables - Located near Supermercati SISA is a great fruit vendor (named Maria) - Via Orti 12. (quality, fresh fruit and vegetables)
Shopping - Most shops are located on Via Corso Reginna. Prices are reasonable.
Outdoor Market - Not to be missed - every Friday Morning. Location - Via Corso Reginna (simply walk up and you'll not miss it - also walk on a side street where the flower vendors are located - you will find more vendors) SEKURCAP ADVICE - Try the chocolates sold in the food section of this market, and if you are into cheese, go for a piece of Grana Padano. You'll come back for more... We invite you to take a look at the Friday Food Market and other videos of Maiori. http://www.youtube.com search the word (sekurvideo).
SICILY
PALERMO
Shopping - If you go a bit off the main shopping streets you could find great (reasonably priced) items - for example - Antica Valigeria Randazzo has a nice selection of suitcases, purses, leather goods, etc. And they offer a lot of great advice as to where to shop (and eat) in Palermo. They are located at Via Alloro, 108/110 near B&B Al Giardino Dell'Alloro (www.giardinodellalloro.it) and Palazzo Abatellis.

DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN AWARD
Bravo to Mr. Whitney Stump, a student at Ball State University in Indiana. Mr. Stump stated that: "If they are not going to provide a safe environment for me and my community, then I believe I have a moral obligation". Yes Mr. Stump, we need more citizens like you who make sure that our citizens are safe. You may have already saved someone's life... Bravo, again!

Consumer "Beware" Club
Reno Depot
"Every Good Customer Needs To Be Insulted"
Reno Depot wins the prize. Reno Depot, 10200 Renaude Lapointe, Anjou, Qc. H1J2V7.
I returned to Reno Depot to see if I could get a part missing from a new (recently purchased) BBQ grill. I was informed by a customer representative that the problem was not the missing part, but the problem was ME. He kept repeating the fact that I had a problem and this was in front of 5 or 6 other cutomers waiting to be served. It is my opinion that for a psychological evaluation to be valid there must be proper testing and evaluation, by a qualified psycholosist, using strict guidelines. Bravo Martin! (Martin is the customer representative in question) Please note that I have worked for a firm of Industrial Psychologists and Martin is a candidate that would not be recommended as a customer representative. JMHO.
KLM
You are flying on KLM or another member of the Skyteam , and you look around and see empty seats. Well, those may be the travelers who prefer to be on another airline.
At SEKURCAP we have done our own investigation. You could do the same. You will most certainly be astonished to find numerous customer complaints, uncountable court cases, and the like.
We have found the following remarks in KLM’s responses to dissatisfied customers.
“ We certainly understand how disappointing and frustrating this entire experience must have been for you.”
“ We regret your continued disappointment with our airline .”
“ The contract between a passenger and an airline involves tariffs ” (That’s it, squeeze every cent out of customers)
“It is always difficult to reach an impasse with a customer. However, we consider this matter closed at this time .” (Refusing to arrive at a bilateral agreement… Doesn’t that sound like a bully?)
After doing due diligence, one could find even more surprising facts about this international airline. Also note that according to the Canadian Transport Agency, KLM had the honour of receiving the largest number of foreign-carrier complaints. So, KLM and the Skyteam has won a permanent and distinguished position in our SEKURCAP - Consumer Beware Club . W e advise consumers to document any, and all, inappropriate behaviour and/or actions on the part of any representative of KLM, and/ or another member of the Skyteam and/or any of their employees.
MIKE'S RESTAURANT
Would you believe ordering from a restaurant, the order arrives incomplete, and the delivery person obliges full payment. We offered payment for items delivered. The offer was refused, all items brought back and the customer has since been barred from MIKE'S. That's correct, BARRED from the restaurant because he accepted to pay only for what he received... Of course we are refering to www.mikes.ca. where customers mean so little.
PREVEL
There has been a wave of emails from Montreal ,
related to a contractor who would prefer paying a team of top-notched lawyers than fixing a problem related to hidden defects in his construction. We looked into the situation and found that (PRÉVEL) www.prevel.ca seems to have several cases against him in the Quebec courts. The situation is that he did not install any of the fireplaces on rue Louis Alphonse Venne according to the manufacturers specifications, which posed a danger to the inhabitants of those condos. Prevel goes under several names, some of which we have found to be: 177233 CANADA INC., INVESTISSEMENTS JACQUES VINCENT INC., LES RÉALISATIONS IMMOBILIÈRES PRÉVEL INC., LES HABITATIONS PRÉVEL INC., Groupe Prével Inc., Groupe Prevel, ETC.
Several judgements could be found on the following website (enter the word "PREVEL" and in "Tribunaux" go to "Cour du Quebec")
http://www.jugements.qc.ca/ (All information is in French.)
Jacques Vincent may still reside at 226, rue Plessis Repentigny (Québec) J6A 7E6
TMS ASPHALTE T.M.S. Inc.
Another one of these "Once You've Paid - We Forget You" companies. Once they had our hard earned dollar, the job was never completed. SEKURCAP has posted this warning with proof to back us up. Though they have told the customer repeatedly (over the past 4 years) that whatever is not finished, will be done soon, TMS never shows up. Comment: If you do business with TMS Asphalte (i.e. www.asphaltetms.com), Make sure that everything is in writing, pay only when the entire job is finished, as per contract and to your entire satisfaction. You may never see them again... We wonder if they were the ones to invent the motto "TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN".
